Notwithstanding § 224, OAG may identify classes of positions that shall be subject to a probationary period of longer than one (1) year.
Factors or conditions that would warrant a probationary period requirement longer than one (1) year for a specific class of positions include, but are not limited to:
Managers seeking a probationary period of longer than one (1) year shall submit a written request for authorization to Attorney General or designee. The justification shall detail the factors or conditions warranting the longer period, with specific reference to the factors outlined in § 224.2, if applicable.
Classes of positions subject to probationary periods of longer than one (1) year shall be published online by OAG. Failure to publish classes of positions subject to a probationary period longer than one (1) year shall not affect the existence of the probationary period.
