§ 372. Division of Industrial Investigation and Development

The Division of Industrial Investigation and Development shall consist of the following sections:

(a) Section of Investigations.— Which shall be in charge of the investigations connected with the industrial processes that need to be tried out on a semicommercial scale before being recommended to industrials, and shall have charge of the establishment and operation of industrial testing plants.

(b) Section of Industrial Development.— Which shall be in charge of putting into practice the industrial processes or discoveries developed in the Section of Investigations of this Division, preparing specifications for constructions and estimates of production costs and maintenance, as well as of the cost of the necessary equipment and its installation for factories on a commercial scale, and of furnishing to the public useful data and information for the establishment of new industries in this Island; it shall promote handcrafts industries, and shall also attend to the inquiries made by the industrials of the country, helping them to solve the problems that affect the good progress of industries in Puerto Rico.
