Section 220-356-130 - Herring hardship validations, qualifications and conditions - Individual or operator(1) The director may validate an individual or operator to fish for herring if the individual or operator: (a) Submits proof that he or she invested in a boat and herring fishing equipment prior to April 26, 1973; and(b) Agrees to use any herring he or she harvests for bait only.(2) It is unlawful to fish for herring in Puget Sound Marine Fish-Shellfish Areas 20A, 20B, 21A, and 21B from April 16 to May 31.(3) The department will revoke permits granted under subsection (1) of this section if the individual or operator violates the above conditions.(4) Violation of this section is a misdemeanor, punishable under RCW 77.15.750, Unlawful use of a department permit -- Penalty.Wash.
