Rule 6-C215 - FOSTER CARE YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PREFERENCE
215.1

A person who applies for a competitive appointment or promotion and who, at the time of application, is 18 to 21 years of age and is in foster care, or who is within five (5) years of leaving foster care, may be awarded a 10-point hiring preference. To be awarded the foster care youth hiring preference, the applicant must:

(a) Currently be in a foster care program administered by the Child and Family Services OAG (CFSA); or
(b) Currently be a resident of the District and have left a foster care program administered by CFSA within the last five (5) years.
215.2

To receive preference, the applicant must provide a letter or other documentation satisfactory to OAG, from CFSA or the Family Court of the D.C. Superior Court showing that the applicant is currently in foster care or showing the date the applicant left CFSA's supervision.
