Section 549.0255 - [Effective 4/1/2025] Prerequisite To Implementing Prior Authorization Requirement For Certain Drugs

Until the commission completes a study evaluating the impact of a prior authorization requirement on recipients of certain drugs, the executive commissioner shall delay requiring prior authorization for drugs that are used to treat patients with illnesses that:

(1) are life-threatening;

(2) are chronic; and

(3) require complex medical management strategies. (Gov. Code, Sec. 531.073(a-1).)
