It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to keep, expose or offer for sale for food, or keep the same for the purpose of sale for food, within the limits of said cities, any emaciated, tainted, putrid, decayed, decaying, unwholesome, or diseased meat, game, fish, eggs, or poultry, or any decayed or unwholesome vegetable, fruit, or other matter or thing used for food. In case of keeping, exposing, or offering such for sale, the said bureau shall have the power and authority to seize, condemn and confiscate the same, and also all maimed and diseased animals, or any that may be too young to be used for food. The keeping, offering, exposure or sale as aforesaid, of any emaciated, tainted, putrid, decayed, decaying, unwholesome or diseased meat, game, fish, eggs, or poultry, or any decayed or unwholesome vegetable, fruit, or other matter or thing used for food, or of any maimed or diseased animal, or animals too young to be used for food, shall be and is hereby declared to be unlawful, and the person so offending shall be subject to all the penalties prescribed in section eleven of this act.
