Section 685.1 - Federal Manpower Development and Training Act of 1962In order to continue to participate in the programs under the Federal Manpower Development and Training Act of 1962 ( 42 U.S.C. 2571 - 2620 ), and its amendments, the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Industry and the Superintendent of Public Instruction are each authorized:
(1) to administer manpower development and training programs and to pay training allowances; (2) to execute on behalf of this Commonwealth agreements or contracts with the appropriate Federal agencies containing such provisions as may be necessary or desirable to enable this Commonwealth to participate in such programs; (3) to expend all funds made available for the purpose of such programs by (i) this Commonwealth or (ii) political subdivisions thereof or (iii) by the Federal government and to supervise the expenditure of such funds and the conduct of such programs by other public and private agencies in this Commonwealth; (4) to make such reports and certifications as are called for; and (5) otherwise to cooperate with the Federal government and its departments and agencies in the administration of such programs.1965, Dec. 22, P.L. 1182, § 1, effective 7/1/1965.
