In situations where the life and safety of people are in jeopardy, the Interagency Committee is hereby empowered to take the necessary steps before the pertinent agencies to order the rehabilitation, transfer, relocation or removal of those structures that, although deserving to be incorporated into the touristic plans because of their historic value, pose a threat to the life and peace of mind of human beings.
The powers of the Interagency Committee to this effect shall include establishing the necessary agreements with both Commonwealth and federal government agencies, as well as with private institutions involved in the development of the project contemplated by this chapter.
The Interagency Committee shall entrust the corresponding cultural institutions with the custody of documents and material assets which cannot be used within the context of the project.
