§ 228i. Naming of public structures and thoroughfares after illustrious persons from the past

None of the provisions in this legislation shall be understood to impair the government, legislative or municipal authority to name public thoroughfares, properties and structures after illustrious persons from the past. However, in these cases, the names of persons not deceased may not be used and to the extent possible, the names of illustrious persons from the past and others relevant in the history, geography and tradition of Puerto Rico, shall be the first choice.
