§ 2094. Requirements for the granting of licenses

The Board shall grant a dental technologist’s license to all candidates who meet the following requirements:

(1) Must be eighteen (18) years of age or more.

(2) Must have resided uninterruptedly in Puerto Rico for the six (6) months prior to his application for examination, except for sporadic departures from the country.

(3) Must present to the Examining Board a graduation diploma or certificate, as well as an official transcript of credit of the academic record certifying that the candidate has [passed] or completed a course, associate degree or diploma in dental technology from a technical school, college, university or educational institution accredited or recognized by the Department of Education or the Council or Higher Education of Puerto Rico.

(4) He must pass the examination offered by the Board.

The Board, after consultation and advice from the Council on Higher Education and the Department of Education, shall establish by regulations the specific course, studies or academic credit requirements that the candidates must have approved to practice as dental technologists. Any change adopted by the Board with regard to the abovementioned requirements shall apply to those students who begin their studies after the extension or modification thereof.
