§ 8127. Declaratory resolutions

By petition of one or various persons interested in building an energy source, the Administration shall issue declaratory resolutions to determine and declare whether the energy source proposed by such person or group of persons shall be classified as a sustainable renewable energy or alternative renewable energy source once it is built. Furthermore, the Administration may require through order that the person interested in building an energy source shall file a declaratory resolution application. The Administration shall oversee compliance with the goal of reducing and stabilizing power costs and controlling the electricity price volatility in Puerto Rico, so as to benefit the general citizenry.

The municipalities may establish renewable energy source projects and, if interested, request the Administration to declare such project as a renewable energy source pursuant to the terms of this chapter.
