§ 898. Exchange and sale of Government equipment by certain agencies

The agencies of the Commonwealth Government authorized by law to make purchases without the intervention of the Service Office are hereby authorized to exchange and sell equipment units and to apply the bonus on said exchange, or the proceeds from the sale, to the cost of substitute similar units. The term “equipment” does not include such units as are not required for the proper transaction of the business of the agencies (surplus equipment) or such vehicles as are under the jurisdiction of the Transportation Chief. Deals not made under written contract shall be invalid.
