§ 714d. Employment preferences

Preference shall be given to the member of the Uniformed Services, State Guard, civilian employee of the Corps of Engineers or the National Disaster Medical System in equal academic and technical conditions or of experience in his/her appointment or promotion for any position, employment or job opportunity. Ten (10) points or ten percent (10%), whichever is greater, shall be added to the grade obtained by the service member in any exam required to qualify for employment or promotion, in addition to any other points or percentage bonus. Competitive exams shall be offered to any member of the services who has been unable to take said competitive exams if requested within a term of one hundred and eighty (180) days after he/she has returned to his[/her] civilian job from active service, or upon his/her return from military training, and upon approval thereof, the name of the employee shall be included in the corresponding lists or registers.
