§ 2463. Granting of reasonable attorney’s fees and costs

A lease contract with a purchase option may provide for the payment of reasonable attorney’s fees in cases of contempt, and costs, if referred to an attorney for collection. Reasonable attorney’s fees and other expenses shall be granted to the prevailing party in any action related to a lease contract with a purchase option, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter, regardless of whether said action is brought by the lessor or by the lessee. When a defendant-lessee alleges in his answer that he paid the total amount to which the plaintiff was entitled, or turned over possession of the leased chattel, and this allegation is true, the defendant shall be the prevailing party according to the meaning of this section.
