§ 855. Discrimination prohibited; penalties

Any employee, agent or official of the Government of the Commonwealth, its agencies, municipalities or instrumentalities who, in the implementation of the provisions of §§ 851—856 of this title, or in the administration and granting of its benefits, discriminates against any person, group or community because of race, color, sex, birth, origin or for their political or religious beliefs shall incur a misdemeanor.

The commission of any of the actions indicated in the previous paragraph shall be sufficient cause for the dismissal of the guilty employee, agent or official from office. The dismissal procedure shall be followed according to the laws and regulations applicable to such employee, agent or official, and it shall be done regardless of the criminal procedure.
