§ 854. Subsequent acquisitions

The Secretary of Housing shall have the faculty to extend the mortgage-interest subsidy to the families who acquire a dwelling by a contract of sale which has been acquired from the previous owner by the Department of Housing or the Housing Bank and Finance Agency due to default of the mortgage contract, or when by payment in kind, surrender their homes because it is impossible to fulfill their contracted obligations, or for other reasons. The families to whom these dwellings are sold must be eligible for the benefits of §§ 851—856 of this title.
