(a) The first Friday of March is hereby declared as the “Puerto Rico Child Nutrition Day”, in order to raise awareness among Puerto Rican children and youths of the importance of a healthy diet.
(b) The Department of State of Puerto Rico, in conjunction with the Department of Education, shall establish the necessary programs or policies to set forth and implement the purposes of this section, including collaboration agreements with private for-profit or non-profit institutions that represent the main sectors of the Island.
(c) The aforementioned agencies shall have the responsibility of creating promotional and educational programs, as well as offering written or broadcast information through radio and television, to raise awareness about the “Puerto Rico Child Nutrition Day”, and highlight its importance.
(d) In order to raise awareness, the agencies designated herein to set forth the purposes of this section shall hold an activity in collaboration with the private sector on the first Friday of March of every year.
(e) The agencies designated under this section may use the services of the radio and television stations of the People of Puerto Rico, as well as the agencies” printing services in order to promote the holding of the activities in connection with the day hereby designated.
