All prisoners sentenced for violations of the Commonwealth laws to terms of imprisonment of less than 30 days shall be imprisoned in the municipal jails of the respective municipalities in which the sentence of the court is pronounced; and all prisoners likewise sentenced for a term of 30 days or more shall be imprisoned in the district jail of the respective part of the Court of First Instance; Provided, however, That all prisoners sentenced by the Vieques part of the District Court for any term of imprisonment shall be confined in the jail provided for in the act entitled, “An Act to provide for the establishment of a jail in the island of Vieques,” approved March 14, 1907.
