§ 3010. Collection of contributions

Every slaughterhouse owner or administrator authorized to operate as such is hereby authorized to collect those contributions provided by virtue of §§ 3001-3012 of this title, regarding animals slaughtered in said slaughterhouses, and to remit the product of said contributions to the Secretary of the Treasury not later than the Wednesday following the week after the animal has been slaughtered.

Slaughterhouses shall be governed by the regulation or regulations approved by the Secretary of the Treasury for that purpose, regarding the procedures for the collection as well as the remitting of said monies to the Secretary of the Treasury.

The Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized to collect contributions, as provided in §§ 3001—3012 of this title, on imported beef. He/she is also authorized to recover the costs incurred for the administration of §§ 3001—3012 of this title pursuant to the regulations adopted.
