§ 1902. Definitions

To the effects of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings expressed herein:

(a) Sharecropper. — Shall mean and include a natural person who cultivates an agricultural farm that is not his property under a written contract with the owner of the land which stipulates a share in the benefits, produce or profits thereof.

(b) Agricultural farm. — Shall mean and include the land devoted mainly to the plowing, cultivation and harvesting of any vegetable product, or to the cattle industry in all its aspects, including apiculture and aviculture as well as freshwater and deep-sea fishing and aquaculture.

(c) Applicable agricultural programs in effect. — Shall mean and include all agricultural programs in effect in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico that stimulate and promote the development and intensification of agriculture in all its phases, and to establish and concede rights and benefits to those who qualify to such purposes.
