Travis Cnty. L. R. Proc. & Decorum 2.8

As amended through August 27, 2024
Rule 2.8 - Virtual and Telephonic Hearings

Short and long hearing dockets and non-jury trials may sometimes be conducted virtually through teleconferencing software such as Zoom. Current policies regarding virtual versus in-person proceedings can be found online or by contacting the Judicial Aide or Judicial Executive Assistant for Court 1 or 2. Specific instructions for accessing an upcoming virtual docket will be distributed by email during the week prior to the setting.

Hearings by telephone are also available in limited circumstances. Requests for telephone hearings should be directed to the Judicial Executive Assistant or Judicial Aide, who will provide instructions for joining court by telephone if approved. A Judge has the discretion to determine if a hearing by telephone is sufficient. If a Judge determines the hearing by telephone was insufficient, he or she may require a virtual or in-person hearing upon notice to all parties.
