A reservoir permit gives only the right to construct a reservoir and store water from the source of supply on which the reservoir is to be located. It does not provide for the diversion of water from another source of supply for the purpose of tilling an off-channel reservoir. If the reservoir is not located on the source of supply, or if an additional supply for the reservoir from another source or sources is desired, a separate application for the supply facility or facilities must be filed. To protect the priority of the right which the applicant will acquire, these reservoir supply applications should be filed at the same time as the reservoir application.
