UST systems that do not meet the standards of Section 6 shall not be placed back into service if they have been temporarily closed for more than 1 year. Substandard USTs shall be permanently closed or removed from the ground in accordance with Part G. A tank that has been permanently closed or that has gone through a change in service shall not be brought back into service unless the tank meets the requirements in Section 6 and the double-wall requirements in Section 14(h). This Section does not apply to previously deferred UST systems described in Part M.
