Section 126-13A-4 - County Plan for Educational Excellence4.1. A four (4) year county plan for educational excellence, amended and renewed annually, will be prepared by the county superintendent and staiT, Upon approval fay the county board of education, it will be submitted to the state department of education by July 1, each year.4.2. The county plan first will address standards which have not been met by describing how and when compliance is expected to be attained. Secondly, the plan will include improvement components which address locally identified needs and priorities and which describe efforts to meet the criteria of excellence. Improvement components must be consistent with locally identified needs, and priorities. It is not necessary to include an improvement component for each standards. 4.3. The format of the county plan for education excellence will be in accord with directions provided" by the state superintendent of schools. " The county plan will incorporate plans" required for instructional improvement required by § 18-9 A-10 and will include a summaryof the plans required for Chapters 1 and 2 of the Education Consolidation and Improvement Act of 1982, Assessment, Improvement and Monitoring Systems (AIMS), continuing education, vocational education, and special education.4.4. School advisory councils or active parent-teacher orgajiizations s.hal] review and advise the principals on the" schools' improvement priorities. which then are submitted to the county superintendent for consideration in the development of the county plan.
