Section 246-229-0040 - Are there other requirements that apply to the use of particle accelerators?(1) Registrants must meet the radiation standards of chapter 246-220 WAC, Radiation protection -- General provisions; chapter 246-221 WAC, Radiation protection standards; and chapter 246-222 WAC, Radiation protection -- Worker rights; for public, operator, and user protection.(2) Depending on the installation, type of machine, and intended use, registrants may also need to meet: (a) Industrial radiographic operations, chapters 246-243 and 246-227 WAC;(b) X ray in the healing arts, chapter 246-225 WAC; and(c) Medical therapy, chapter 246-240 WAC.(3) Registrants using particle accelerators to produce radioactive material must meet the requirements of chapter 246-232 WAC, Radioactive material -- Licensing applicability; and chapter 246-235 WAC, Radioactive materials -- Specific licenses.Wash.
