Section R392-302-39 - Special Purpose Pools: Therapy Pools(1) The manager shall consult with the local health officer before opening a therapy pool.(2) The manager shall ensure that each therapy pool:(a) meets any applicable requirement of this rule in addition to this section; and(b) complies with Sections R392-302-25 Disinfection and Quality of Water, R392-302-33 Cleaning of Pools, and R392-302-34 Pool Operation and Record Keeping unless it is drained, cleaned, and sanitized after each individual use.(3) The local health officer may exempt a therapy pool from any other requirement of this rule, if the therapy pool is used exclusively for aquatic therapy, physical therapy, or rehabilitation to treat a diagnosed injury, illness or medical condition and is under the direct supervision of a person licensed by the Utah Division of Professional Licensing to perform the assigned task.(4) The manager shall allow the local health officer to enter and investigate the use of a therapy pool in response to a complaint, to assure that use of the pool is properly supervised, to examine records of testing and sampling, and to take samples to assure that water quality and cleanliness are maintained.Utah Admin.
