Section 355.626 - Facility Orientation(a) Each resident shall be provided a verbal orientation within 12 hours after admission into the facility.(b) The verbal orientation shall include an explanation of the facility's: (1) procedures to access health care and available services;(2) program rules with corresponding and maximum disciplinary sanctions;(3) grievance policies and procedures;(4) procedures to access mental health care and available services;(5) information regarding the reporting of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child in a juvenile justice facility; and(6) policy that states the resident is ensured the right of confidentiality with regard to the items included in paragraphs (3) and (5) of this subsection and will not face reprisal for participating in the procedures included in these items.(c) If the resident is not sufficiently fluent in English, arrangements shall be made to provide the resident with an orientation in the resident's primary language within 48 hours after admission.(d) When a literacy problem prevents a resident from understanding written rules, a staff member or translator shall assist the resident within 48 hours after admission.(e) The facility shall: (1) provide each resident a written copy of the orientation materials upon completion of the orientation process; and/or(2) post the orientation information in an accessible area in the housing unit such as on a wall or in a binder.37 Tex.
