Section 351.47 - Chemical AgentsIn addition to the requirements found in § 351.41, § 351.42 and § 351.43 of this chapter, the use of chemical agents shall be governed by the following criteria:
(1) the juvenile board shall authorize under which situations chemical agents may be used;(2) immediately following the use of a chemical agent, exposed residents shall be examined by a medical professional and treated if necessary;(3) in all cases, the use of a chemical agent shall be witnessed by a staff member other than the juvenile detention officer using the agent; and(4) any use of a chemical agent is to be reported to the facility administrator immediately after the incident.37 Tex.
