Section 70:04:03:06 - Location and spacing of directional signsDirectional signs must be located and spaced as follows:
(1) Signs must be located a minimum of 2,000 feet from an interchange or intersection at-grade along the interstate system and a minimum of 1,000 feet from an interchange or intersection at-grade along the primary system, measured from the nearest point of the beginning or ending of pavement widening at the exit from or entrance to the main-traveled way;(2) Signs must be located a minimum of 2,000 feet from rest areas, parklands, or scenic areas, measured from the boundary line at its intersection with the right-of-way line;(3) Two directional signs facing the same direction of travel must be located a minimum of one mile apart;(4) A maximum of three directional signs pertaining to the same site and facing the same direction of travel may be located along a single route approaching the site;(5) Signs located adjacent to the interstate system must be within 75 air miles of the site; and(6) Signs located adjacent to the primary system must be within 50 air miles of the site.S.D.
