Section 70:03:01:45.02 - Multiple-trip construction equipment permit - Assigned to a unit

A multiple-trip construction equipment permit for movement of construction equipment shall be assigned to the individual unit. A unit may consist of self-propelled construction equipment, a motor vehicle towing tow-a-way construction equipment, or a motor vehicle which hauls construction equipment. For a unit hauling construction equipment, only one permit a unit is required to move any load on the unit provided that the unit's loaded dimensions do not exceed those listed on the permit and the loaded unit is not overweight.

Each overweight unit requires an individual permit. For an overweight unit hauling construction equipment, the permit is assigned to the unit and the piece of construction equipment being hauled. An overweight unit's axle spacings must match those listed on the permit and its axle weights must not exceed those listed on the permit. A permit purchased to allow an overweight unit to move when hauling a piece of construction equipment may also be used for the unit and any other load which is not overweight provided that the loaded unit does not exceed the dimensions listed on the permit.
