Outside appraiser assessors may become certified by the department pursuant to the provisions in this section. To be eligible for certification under this section, individuals must have two prior years of full-time experience in appraisal or assessment and must have completed relevant coursework approved by the secretary. Eligible outside appraiser assessors may earn a permanent certificate upon successful completion of the department certification examination with a passing score. The certification received pursuant to this section is effective on the date of successful test completion and is valid for a period of five years.
