Residents may not borrow money from or lend money to each other or to employees of the home; have drugs or medicine in their possession unless for self-medication as prescribed or approved by a physician; smoke while making up, lying, or sitting on beds at the home; use profanity or vulgarities, be quarrelsome with other residents or staff, or create unnecessarily loud noise on the home's premises; fail to pay the amount fixed by the secretary of veterans affairs for support and maintenance; remove any property of the state of South Dakota from the home's grounds or conceal or willfully destroy state or other resident's property; gamble on the home's premises; bring, have, or drink intoxicating beverages on the home's premises; be in an intoxicated condition on the home's premises; or be habitually intoxicated.
