An educator with a mentor teacher education specialist certificate is eligible to provide ongoing guidance in lesson planning, classroom management, and classroom organization in a field-based setting to student teachers, newly hired teachers, and experienced teachers who have difficulties performing classroom duties. The certificate is issued to a person with a professional or advanced teaching certificate or professional administrator certificate meeting the requirements of § 24:28:27:06.
