N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. tit. 9 § 4.117

Current through Register Vol. 46, No. 45, November 2, 2024
Section 4.117 - Executive order no. 117: abolishing the board of public disclosure
1. Chapter 813 of the Laws of 1987, as amended by chapter 108 of the Laws of 1988, created a State Ethics Commission to monitor compliance with the State's new ethics law, which applies to all statewide elected officials, and State officers and employees. The ethics law contains conflict of interest restrictions and financial disclosure requirements, and provides the State Ethics Commission with rule making, enforcement and advisory power with respect to the new law.
2. The Board of Public Disclosure, which was established in January 1983 pursuant to Executive Order No. 3, and the conflict of interest restrictions and financial disclosure requirements contained in such Order, will no longer be necessary when the new, more comprehensive State ethics law takes full effect on January 1, 1989.
3. Therefore, pursuant to this Executive Order, the Board of Public Disclosure is abolished as of January 1, 1989, and Executive Order No. 3, dated January 8, 1983, is hereby revoked as of January 1, 1989.
