Section 8:34-4.4 - Equivalency of internship requirement(a) The service requirement identified at 8:34-3.1(a)4 shall be met if the applicant either:1. Has: i. Obtained a Master's degree in Health Care Administration or Public Health Administration, or their equivalent, from an accredited institution of higher learning; andii. Completed an internship program, approved by the institution that conferred the Master's degree, of not less than 450 hours, or as determined by the Board to be substantially equivalent, in a nursing home with no fewer than 60 beds within the two years immediately preceding application to the Board for licensure; or2. Has: i. Obtained a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health Administration or Long Term Care Administration, or their equivalent, from an accredited institution of higher learning; andii. Completed an internship program, approved by the institution that conferred the Bachelor's degree, of not less than 900 hours, or as determined by the Board to be substantially equivalent, in a nursing home with no fewer than 60 beds within the two years immediately preceding application to the Board for licensure.(b) An applicant who possesses a Master's degree, as identified in (a)1i above, and who has not completed an approved internship through the Master's program, shall complete at least 875 hours as an administrative intern, in a nursing home with no fewer than 60 beds.(c) An applicant who possesses a Bachelor's degree, as identified in (a)2i above, and who has not completed an approved internship through the Bachelor's program, shall complete at least 1,250 hours, as an administrative intern, in a nursing home with no fewer than 60 beds.N.J.
