Section Pari 804.01 - Duties of the Commission Veterinarian
(a) The commission veterinarian shall:
(1) Examine each greyhound when the greyhound is being weighed in;
(2) Report to the board any greyhound which in his or her medical judgment is unfit to race; and
(3) View the running of the races.
(b) The commission veterinarian shall provide first aid to any greyhound injured from the time that the greyhound is weighed in until the time the greyhound is returned to the care of the kennel owner or trainer.
(c) The commission veterinarian shall authorize medications to be administered or applied to an entered greyhound when in the veterinarian's professional medical opinion:
(1) The greyhound's physical condition requires the administration or application of the medication; and
(2) The medication will not affect the greyhound's ability to run the races for which the greyhound is entered.
(d) The veterinarian shall maintain the veterinarian's list.
