Section Mid 405.04 - Publication of Midwife's Writing Related to Midwifery(a) The midwifery council shall recognize as continuing education the publication of writing related to midwifery written in part or in whole by the midwife, including the publication of books, chapters of books, and articles, provided that no more than 2 publications shall be credited during any licensing renewal period.(b) For the publication or co-publication of a book the midwifery council shall: (1) Credit the midwife with 12 contact hours; and(2) Require that only 8 of the required 20 contact hours shall be earned through participation in academic or other courses, classes, seminars, workshops or distance learning courses described in Mid 405.02.(c) For the publication or co-publication of a chapter of a book or an article the midwifery council shall credit the midwife with 4 contact hours.N.H.
