Section Mid 405.03 - Informal Independent Study(a) The midwifery council shall recognize informal independent study in midwifery as continuing education.(b) Informal independent study shall include:(1) Reading midwifery-related books and journals;(2) Viewing midwifery-related videotapes, digital video discs, or live streaming video programs; and(3) Listening to audio recordings.(c) The midwifery council shall credit the midwife with one contact hour for every 2 clock hours of informal independent study, to a maximum of 4 contact hours, provided that the midwife writes a report of the major theses of the book, journal, videotape, or digital video disc.N.H.
