Section He-W 637.17 - Basic Education Activity(a) Dependent children age 16 through 17 who do not have a high school diploma or equivalent and who are mandatory NHEP participants shall participate in basic education full time, as defined by the institution;(b) Individuals described in (a) above and He-W 637.04(b) , shall participate in an alternative employment program activity if: (1) The high school refuses to accept the individual; or(2) The parent requests an alternative to high school.(c) Individuals described in (b) above who are parents shall meet participation requirements pursuant to He-W 637.03.(d) Full time educational activities may be substituted for the work requirement for a parent under the age of 25 receiving assistance as an unemployed parent, if: (1) The parent has not completed high school or an equivalent course of education;(2) Test results indicate the parent has a reading level of below the 8th grade; and(3) The activity has been specified in the employability plan.N.H.
