Section Fis 405.05 - Smelt
(a) In accordance with RSA 211:2-e, freshwater smelt shall be taken by angling only, except as otherwise provided in Fis 406, Fis 407, and Fis 502.
(b) Smelt shall not be taken from the freshwaters of the state by any method from March 15 through June 15 except as otherwise provided in Fis 406, Fis 407, and Fis 502.
(c) Each person taking freshwater smelt shall at all times keep their individual take in a separate unbreakable container marked with their name, except that an angler, while actually fishing for a species other than smelt, shall be permitted to keep live bait smelt in an unmarked container.
(d) A person shall not take smelt while using a boat being propelled by mechanical power.
