Section Env-Dw 709.03 - Collection of Bacteria Samples(a) The owner of a PWS that serves greater than 4,900 persons shall collect total coliform samples on at least 2 separate occasions at least 5 days apart throughout the sampling month.(b) Each group of total coliform samples collected pursuant to (a), above, shall contain as close to the same number of samples as possible.(c) Subject to (d), below, the owner of a PWS that uses only groundwater not under the direct influence of surface water, as defined in Env-Dw 100, and serves 4,900 persons or fewer may collect all required samples on a single day only if the samples are obtained at different sampling points.(d) For purposes of (c), above, multiple samples may be taken from a sample site only if the PWS has fewer sampling sites than the number of samples to be collected and at least one sample is collected from each sample site.(e) The PWS owner shall collect not less than the minimum number of required samples even if the system has had an E. coli MCL violation as described in Env-Dw 702.02 or has exceeded the coliform assessments triggers in Env-Dw 709.22.N.H.
