Section 179-25-008 - APPROVED LABORATORIES

008.01 Cryptosporidium

Systems must have Cryptosporidium samples analyzed by a laboratory that is approved under EPA's Laboratory Quality Assurance Evaluation Program for Analysis of Cryptosporidium in Water or a laboratory that has been certified for Cryptosporidium analysis by an equivalent Department laboratory certification program.

008.02 E. coli

Any laboratory certified by EPA, the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference or the Department for total coliform or fecal coliform analysis under 179 NAC 13-007 is approved for E. coli analysis under this chapter when the laboratory uses the same technique for E. coli that the laboratory uses for 179 NAC 13-007.

008.03 Turbidity

Measurements of turbidity must be made by

1. A Grade I, II, III, or IV licensed water operator, or

2. A person who has been trained to measure turbidity and has completed Attachment 1 which is incorporated herein by reference and has sent it to the Department.
