Section XVII-1543 - Computer Output Microfilm (COM)A. All policies for COM are the same as other microfilm formats, except: 1. the COM original must be wet processed silver-gelatin film for essential records and records with a retention of 10 years or more;2. the following standards for production, testing, and inspection of COM are recommended: B. If bar coding is used, the procedures in technical report AIIM TR12 should be followed.C. The COM original must be visually inspected every 10 feet.D. Eye-legible titling information must include the following: 3. date(s) of records; and4. starting and/or ending indexing information.E. A reduction ratio not exceeding 48:1 must be used.F.
