Section LIII-703 - Standard 1A. The physically literate individual demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.1. Intent. The intent of this standard is the development of the physical skills needed to enjoy participation in physical activities. Maturing movement fundamentals establish a foundation to facilitate the development of continued motor skill acquisition at all levels.B. Grade Level Equivalents 1. Specialized Skills and Movement Patterns a. [1.6-1.1] Demonstrate simple movement patterns in dance, gymnastics, or fitness.b. [1.6-1.2] Demonstrate the critical elements of specialized locomotor and non-locomotor skills in a variety of movement forms in controlled settings.c. [1.6-1.3] Perform simple dance sequences.d. [1.7-1.1] Exhibit command of rhythm and timing by creating a movement sequence to music as an individual, with a partner, or in a small group.e.
