Each consumer intending to vacate any premises supplied with water by the corporation shall give notice of the consumer's intention to vacate at least fifteen days prior thereto, specifying the date service is desired to be discontinued. The consumer shall be responsible for the cost of all water service furnished to the premises until fifteen days after the corporation has received such notice of discontinuance. Before buildings are demolished, the corporation should be notified so the service connection can be closed.
