All increments in salary shall be based solely on merit.
A favorable rating shall not guarantee a merit increase, but shall be the basis for consideration for a merit increase.
Upon the recommendation of the Dean of the College and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the President may award a merit bonus to a faculty member whose overall performance has been "Excellent."
Faculty members at the top of the salary scale for a given rank shall continue to be eligible for merit bonuses.
