Rule 8-A1810 - RETENTION STANDING: LENGTH OF SERVICE
1810.1

Creditable service in determining length of service shall include all federal, District government, and military service otherwise creditable for Civil Service retirement purposes. Creditable service shall be determined in accordance with federal law and regulations pertaining to creditability of civilian and military service for Civil Service retirement purposes.

1810.2

A service date shall be established for each competing employee as specified in this section. An employee's service date shall be the date which reflects total creditable service and shall be one (1) of the following:

(a) The date of entrance on duty, when there is no previous creditable service; or
(b) The date obtained by subtracting total creditable previous service from the date the employee last entered on duty.
1810.3

The service date for each employee shall be adjusted to withhold credit for non-creditable service.
