Rule 8-A103 - DUTIES OF THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS
103.1

The Chairperson shall preside, and may vote on and enter into the discussion of any item of business, at all regular meetings, special or emergency meetings, and meetings of the Committee of the Whole.

103.2

The Chairperson shall appoint the chairperson and membership of all standing committees and ad hoc committees established by the Board.

103.3

The Chairperson may for good cause remove a committee chairperson or member unless overridden by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Board at the next regular meeting of the Board.

103.4

Whenever a committee vacancy occurs, the Chairperson shall promptly appoint a new committee member.

103.5

The Chairperson shall not serve as chairperson of any committee except the Committee of the Whole, but shall be a member ex officio of each standing and ad hoc committee with the right to vote.

103.6

The Chairperson shall act as official spokesperson for the Board when the Board is not in session; Provided, that the Chairperson shall only represent the position of the Board of Governors as established by the official acts of the Board.

103.7

The Chairperson shall perform other duties as may be authorized by this title, the Board of Governors, or by the laws of the District of Columbia.
