The My Life, My Way program shall be established as a Medicaid participant-directed services (PDS) program in the District of Columbia to afford participants enrolled in the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver for Individual and Family Support (IFS) the opportunity to self-direct certain IFS Waiver services.
Participation in the My Life, My Way program shall be limited to participants enrolled in the IFS Waiver who live in their own private residence or in the home of a family member.
The My Life, My Way program shall include a combination of hands-on care, habilitative supports, skill development and building, community integration and inclusion, supervision, non-medical care, assistance with activities of daily living, and/or access to goods and services as described in 29 DCMR Chapter 90.
PDS shall include the following:
Individual-directed goods and services shall only be available to IFS Waiver participants enrolled as participants in the My Life, My Way program.
My Life, My Way program participants shall be afforded self-direction opportunities to:
The My Life, My Way program participant or their designated authorized representative shall serve as a "common law employer" of all PDWs hired by the participant.
Financial management services and financial information and assistance services shall be provided to My Life, My Way program participants through the Vendor Fiscal/Employer Agency (VF/EA) Financial Management Services (FMS)-Support Broker entity selected by the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) through a competitive procurement process.
My Life, My Way program participants shall not receive agency-based companion, individualized day supports, in-home supports, and/or respite daily services offered under Chapter 90 of Title 29 DCMR when those services are received through PDS.
My Life, My Way program participants shall be eligible to receive all services offered under the IFS Waiver except for agency-based companion, individualized day supports, in-home supports, and/or respite daily services described in Section 11100.9.
