Jewelry inserted into a healed piercing that has not been previously worn or contaminated shall be disinfected in accordance with manufacturer's instructions with a non-ha zardous disinfectant approved by the EPA.
Jewelry placed in newly pierced skin shall be sterilized prior to piercing as specified in Subsection 304.12 or shall be purchased pre-sterilized as specified in Sections 309, 310, and 312.
